UTOPIA is the name of Carlo Bevilacqua's project in which he examines alternative communities and their lifestyles around the world. The motives of the hippie, artist or spiritual communities are very different, but what they have in common is that they all pursue a social counter-design. Bevilacqua, who has always been fascinated by the idea of utopianism, visited these strange and paradisiacal places to record their stories. The viewer gets to know the utopians as dreamers who not only dream, but are ready to realise their vision of a fulfilled existence.
