  Ruhrakademie shed light on global phenomena and omnipresent networks. The
  individual works\, partly documentary\, partly subjective narrative\, fit
  together like puzzle pieces to form a complex overall picture.\nThe world
  of goods and consumption is thematised in several series. We travel to Vi
 etnam and see markets with the same cheap articles present on all continen
 ts. In Germany\, container terminals herald international trade routes. Th
 e rubbish that remains at the end\, as another photo series shows\, is an 
 equally global phenomenon.\nOn the one hand\, the students use photography
  to make different aspects of globality visible. On the other hand\, they 
 direct their gaze to the medium itself. The tools\, the distribution\, the
  reception and the omnipresence of photography in the age of digital moder
 nity make photography the global medium par excellence. The series that de
 al with the mobile phone and its use form a special thematic focus of this
