DESCRIPTION;ALTREP="CID:<FFFF__=0ABBE548DFE235B58f9e8a93d@coffeebean.com>":
Since 2020\, Elisabeth Sonneck has been realising a long-term project that
uses colour to examine phenomena of farewell\, remembrance\, fading\, cel
ebration and decay between pomp and chaos. The starting point is research i
nto the 250-year-old cemetery in the small town of Die in the south of Fra
nce.\nFor her site-specific projects\, Sonneck creates colouristic memorie
s of the situation on small-format paper\, as well as a photographic inven
tory in unedited mobile phone photos. This visual material transforms the p
hysical location\, traces and atmospheres of use\, history and social real
ity - in colour.\nIn the photography project space\, Sonneck's research is
combined with the ‘scroll paintings’ she has been developing since 2006.
Differentiated colour spectra are created on long\, rolled strips of paper
in an improvisation that emphasises the immediate physical moment: the st
aggered stops of the multiple overlapping brushstrokes create complex biog
raphies of colour and rhythm.\nThe production-related rolling tension of t
he paper is utilised in continuous metamorphosis and recycling for flexibl
e embodiments. Sonneck's scroll paintings are brought into a precarious\,
precise balance with often broken found objects from the urban space - pai
nting and worthless everyday remnants collide in symbiosis. Here\, too\, t
he view opens up to the abundance of the unstable\, the fragile\, the tran
 sitory.\n&nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nPARTICIPATING ARTISTElisabeth Sonneck\nARTISTIC
