The Photobook Dummy Award presents its shortlist of 50 international photo books in the Depot e.V. Fotostudio. Be part of the jury and vote for your favourite book during the f² Fotofestival.

Every year since 2010, the worldwide competition for the best unpublished photobook dummies has offered photographers the opportunity to present their book projects to an international audience. Participants can make valuable contacts with publishers, galleries and festivals. Formerly known as the Kassel Dummy Award, the PhotoBookMuseum in Cologne has been responsible for the Dummy Award since 2023.

Every year, around 50 books are selected for the shortlist and presented at photo festivals and exhibitions worldwide. In addition to a jury assessment, each exhibition venue has one vote, which is determined either by a public vote or the decision of the curators. These votes are used to select 5 winning books from the shortlist.

The book that wins the PBM/MAS Prize will be produced and published by Turkey's leading photo book printing and binding company MAS Matbaa in co-operation with the PhotoBookMuseum. The costs will be fully covered. The other four winning books will receive a production grant for the printing of their books by MAS Matbaa.
