In German studies, three dots in square brackets indicate an omission within a quotation. The space refers to something that existed in text form but is no longer visible. In a chaotic state, it is the opposite: there is nothing yet, but something can arise from it. Chaos is a space of possibility from which anything can potentially emerge. More than that, complete disorder is actually the best prerequisite for any formalization process.

The exhibition „[...]“ shows fourteen photographic positions by students from the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the École nationale supérieure de la photographie in Arles, which reflect a broad spectrum of conceptual, artistic and documentary approaches. Concretized from a chaotic, open space of possibilities, their points of view and modes of representation could hardly be more heterogeneous.
